Divorce, the death of a loved one, parenting dilemmas, financial difficulties, and attempts to overcome an addiction are a few issues that can bring us to our knees. Personal problems follow us to work - work performance and relations with coworkers can suffer. What is an EAP? How does it work? Ideally, counselling sessions are conducted face-to-face, however where a person can not attend one of our counselling centres, a fre-call 1800 number is available for a telephone counselling session. The brief counselling session offers support, problem evaluation and assessment, teaches coping skills and problem solving techniques, and other means of help. If outside help is needed, the counsellor or may refer you to other professionals who can help. Read more about Employee Assistance Programs in our FAQ - click here
