In line with our 'You matter!' philosophies we encourage our staff to be actively involved in supporting various groups in the communities in which we operate.
Some examples of ways we have helped recently include: Maze Mania When Karen, the owner of Maze Mania, called for community help to save her business Betterlife Directions director, Elizabeth Benson-Stott, answered. Maze Mania is a business that services young families, and provides a place for parents to take their children in a safe and fun environment. Karen needed help to find new premises and to move a substantial amount of equipment, as well as 'the maze' which is a complex series of tunnels, nets and equipment that weighs several tonnes. With the help of a number of friends and staff the move was a success. GEMS GEMS is a volunteer organisation that supports people with a mental illness. Recently Betterlife Directions made a donation to support this group, and hosted a day trip to Bundaberg to visit the Bridges Older Men Unlimited (OMU) Older Men Unlimited is a not-for-profit organisation that provides support services to older men. They approached us to help them analyse the feedback from a recent conference they successfully ran. Betterlife Directions staff spent time at no cost to OMU to look at the data and prepare a report, which will be used by OMU in future applications for funding their project.
